25-year-old Jonathan Dwyer, a backup running back for the Arizona Cardinals, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with two alleged domestic abuse incidents which occurred in late July of this year. The victims of the abuse were a 27-year-old woman and their 18-month-old child.
When the Cardinals became aware of the allegations, Dwyer was deactivated from the team.
Dwyer was released from the Maricopa County Jail earlier today after posting a $25,000 bond. He faces charges including aggravated assault, criminal damage, and preventing a phone call to police.
Jonathan Dwyer is the fourth NFL player to be arrested on assault allegations this year.
